Donald Trump has an offer for President Obama.
Trump -- who
continues to question whether Obama was born in the USA -- says he will
give $5 million to a charity of Obama's choice if the president releases
his college and passport applications and records.
The business
mogul and high-profile supporter of Republican candidate Mitt Romney
made the offer in a much-ballyhooed video released today.
He continues to dispute Obama's citizenship, despite a release in 2010 showing that Obama was born in Honolulu in 1961.
Obama aides quickly pointed to Trump's outspoken support of Romney.
"Given
Trump is one of his biggest supporters, this is a question best
directed at the Romney team in Boston," said Obama campaign spokesperson
Jen Psaki.
There's a deadline for the release, Trump said: By 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 (also known as Halloween).
"If
he releases these records, it will end the question and indeed the
anger of many Americans," Trump says in the video. "They'll know
something about their president. Their president will become transparent
like other presidents."
