MIAMI -- The funeral and burial for University of Florida student Christian Aguilar is being held in Miami.

The funeral mass is Tuesday at St. Dominic's Catholic Church and is open to the public. The services were donated.

Aguilar's father, Carlos, said in a statement the family has found some peace in finding the body and "being able to give him a proper burial."

Aguilar's remains were found Oct. 12 in rural Levy County. An 18-year-old friend of Aguilar's, Pedro Bravo, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Two of Aguilar's aunts in Colombia have been granted nonimmigrant visas to travel to Florida for the funeral.
