JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Former United Nations ambassador John Bolton paid a visit to the First Coast on Monday, Oct. 15, speaking to an audience very interested in the Middle East and Israel.
Bolton appeared on behalf of the Mitt Romney campaign to talk about foreign policy at the Etz Chaim Orthodox Synagogue in Mandarin.
Bolton touched on several issues, including the recent terrorist strike in Libya that claimed the life of United States ambassador Chris Stevens and three others.
That attack at the consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 is the subject of congressional hearings.
"It may well be and I hope it is true that our military and our intelligence services are preparing an appropriate response to those assassinations," said Bolton.
"If it is true, it would be about the only national security secret this administration has kept," said the former UN ambassador.
Bolton is openly critical of President Obama's foreign policy and its handling of the Middle East.
