JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Duval County judge sentenced a convicted sexual predator to two life terms Tuesday morning.
Lonnie Charles Holmes, 36, was convicted on two counts of sexual battery in August.
Between June 2010 and April 2011, Holmes sexually abused a 7-year-old girl, according to a release from the State Attorney's office.
The release said Holmes forced the girl to perform sex acts on him numerous times.
Assistant State Attorney Anna Hixon, who helped prosecute the case, said, "This defendant will never have the chance to harm another child. I hope this sentence also helps our young victim in her healing process."
Holmes was declared a sexual predator as part of his sentence.
