Filling two hours of Tuesday's Dancing With the Stars results
show meant lots of chattering, a bunch of clips, a couple of dance
troupe routines, and performances by hunky Pitbull and hottie Justin
Bieber before getting to that crucial who's-going-home final moment.
Some random facts we learned before any results were revealed:
- Sarah Palin is proud of daughter Bristol. "She worked so hard," said Mama Palin in a taped segment at the start of the show.
- Bristol said she deserves to be an All-Star "because I work just as hard as everyone else."
- Val Chmerkovskiy thought his partner, General Hospital star Kelly Monaco, worked in a hospital.

Pamela Anderson says dancing "is a challenge -- from head to toe!" At
the bottom of the pack going into the results show, she admitted, "I
screwed up so many things!" and said she needs to "rehearse more." Pam really
wants to get to dance next week because, "I'm going to be on Broadway
and I'm really excited about that opportunity, and this dance is a
little tease." Said Tom Bergeron: "Imagine that -- Pamela Anderson is
going to be a little tease!"
- Joey Fatone said of last night, "I didn't know whether to vomit or relieve myself. I was just nervous."

Drew Lachey says the ballroom has changed since he won in Season 2, but
not much else has. "It all comes down to you have to learn the dance
and you have to execute the dance."
- Apolo Anton Ohno "had fun" on Monday's debut, despite landing in the middle of the leaderboard pack.
- Helio Castroneves never stops smiling.

Helio's pro partner, Chelsie Hightower, didn't realize Brazilians speak
Portuguese and other South Americans speak Spanish. Teased Tom
Bergeron: "We speak English and, yet, we're not from Canada!"

Melissa Rycroft is dancing for her daughter, although Bergeron said she
looks like she did in 2009 when she replaced injured Nancy O'Dell on the
show.
- Gilles Marini likes to insist he's not a dancer. He says he pulled a hamstring, but "it's not a big deal."
- Emmitt Smith wonders if he and partner Cheryl Burke can meet the "expectations" set for them as winners of Season 3 in 2006.

Shawn Johnson is teased constantly by partner Derek Hough for her short
height. "Shawn? Shawn" he says, looking around the room, when she's
standing right next to him. She admitted it got old "after the first
time" Hough did it. And we saw him do it at least three times. Hough had
her sit down on the floor next to him to talk to Tom Bergeron so they
would all be close to eye level.
- Pro Louis Van Amstel worries
he'll get "death threats" if he doesn't help Sabrina Bryan win the
mirrorball trophy because she was voted onto the show in a wild-card
spot by the public.
- Maks Chmerkovskiy told Kirstie Alley, "You are the best partner I've ever had. I love you very much."
Finally, Brooke Burke-Charvet joined the show and got down to business (but not before tweeting a photo of the back of her short dress).
First couples deemed safe: Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough, Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff, Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson.
Next deemed safe: Helio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower, Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy, Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke.
Then:
Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd, Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel.
And, Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Melissa Rycroft and Tony
Dovolani.
In jeopardy: Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya, Pamela Anderson and Tristan MacManus.
Bristol was safe, leaving Drew and Pamela as the bottom two.
First
All-Star eliminated: Pamela Anderson. No surprise there. "I was ready
for it, for sure," she said, not shedding a tear. "We got the lowest
score. But we'll keep dancing. We'll dance together again. It doesn't
end here."
