Henry runs for 502 yards, most of any running back in any single game in Florida high school football history
YULEE, Fla. -- After a record-setting performance, Yulee High School running back Derrick Henry is our athlete of the week.
In this past Friday's 45-28 win over Andrew Jackson High School, Henry carried the ball 45 times for 502 yards and 6 touchdowns. He set a new state record for most rushing yards in a single game. Derrick also passed Emmitt Smith and now has the second most career rushing yards in the state of Florida's history.
The state's all-time leading rusher, Kelvin Taylor visits Yulee this Friday when Glades Day faces the Hornets in a nationally televised game on ESPNU.
On Friday afternoon, Henry will announce where he's going to play college football. His three finalists are Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.
