PERRY, Fla. -- A hog that ran into the highway in north Florida caused a man to crash his motorcycle.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports 60-year-old Larry Strickland was driving on the highway Sunday morning when a hog came from the south shoulder and into his lane. FHP says Strickland's motorcycle collided with the hog.

WCTV TV reports Strickland was not wearing a helmet at the time and was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

FHP says alcohol was not in his system.
