JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- While Animal Care and Protective Services is flooded with cats and dogs and asking the public to help with emergency adoptions, two kittens set aside for foster care were accidentally euthanized Friday.
Monica Landeros with the City of Jacksonville tells First Coast News the kittens had been put in a holding area, after they were dropped off by a different foster parent.
An employee did not know there was a new foster parent coming to pick up the kittens from the shelter.
"This was an unfortunate miscommunication, and ACPS has begun necessary improvements to prevent it from happening again," Landeros said.
