JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Port Authority board has approved a five percent pay raise and a $50,000 bonus for chief executive officer Paul Anderson, our news partner, The Florida Times-Union reports.
Anderson's $320,000 salary will be increased to $336,000 on Oct. 1, according to the Times-Union.
The raise is causing a rift with the Jacksonville City Council. John Crescimbeni, chairman of the council's Finance Committee told the Times-Union that council members "absolutely were misled."
The T-U reports that's because the authority told the City Council it had budgeted no raises for non-union employees.
