JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- On Wednesday, a judge sentenced a convicted armed robber to two concurrent life terms.

Nicholas Warren, 23, will spend the rest of his life in prison, according to a news release from the State Attorney's Office.

In August, Warren was convicted on charges of attempted felony murder and armed robbery.

According to the release, Warren and a co-defendant, James Taylor, broke into a Jacksonville Beach home in March 2012.

During the burglary, the two beat Matthew Longhway with a crowbar.

The release said the two also tried to shoot Longhway, but the gun jammed when the two pulled the trigger.

Warren took TVs, a laptop and other electronics from the home, the release said.

Warren, the release said is a reoffender. Warren was convicted of grand theft auto and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in 2008. He got out of prison in November 2009.

James Taylor pleaded guilty to charges of attempted felony murder and armed robbery last month. A judge sentenced him to 11 years in prison.
