JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The St. Johns River Ferry is out of service until further notice.
Nancy Rubin, spokesperson for JaxPort, said the ferry will probably be out of service for the next several days. The U.S. Coast Guard recommended that the ferry be taken out of service due stress fractures in the hull plate of the ferry.
Rubin said a small amount of water is seeping into the ferry, but it can be pumped out. The vessel will be taken out of the water for repairs.
An advisory will be sent out by JaxPort once the ferry resumes service.
