JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Every year, First Coast citizens make the climb to the top of the Bank of America tower downtown to fight for those who have to fight to breathe.
The American Lung Association in Florida will hold its kickoff party Thursday night from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bank of America tower, 50 N. Laura Street, 42nd floor. This event will start the fundraising for the Fight For Air Climb on Feb. 2, 2013.

Monies raised from the event will go toward "research, advocacy and education in Northeast Florida" in fighting to help people have healthy lungs and breathe healthy air, according to a release.

People taking part in the event will help those who suffer from asthma, lung cancer, COPD and other conditions that affect the lungs.
