JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An admissions officer from West Point will visit with several Duval County students.
Major Betty Myrthil will fly into the River City to visit with students from five public schools.
The Major's first stop is to meet with one student at Stanton College Preparatory School and one student from Paxon School for Advanced Studies. Both students are potential candidates for West Point said Jill Johnson, spokesperson for Duval County Public Schools.
Major Myrthil will meet Larry Roziers, Executive Director of High Schools and William R. Brown, Jr., West Point Society of North Florida's Academic Committee Chairman before giving students an inside look at West Point.
She will also meet with select JROTC leadership students, Johnson said. During the meeting, students will have the chance to ask questions about the military academy, its admissions process and benefits of being accepted.
