JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has located a man reported missing earlier this month.

Robert Allen Hoopes, 26, walked away from an assisted living facility located in the 7900 block of Dale Court on September 6.

Friday morning police sent notification via email Hoopes had been located.  Police said the man is safe.

Hoopes is mentally slow due to a brain injury and has trouble communicating as a result, according to a release from JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.
