JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Duval County will see a change in how health officials are containing the spread of tuberculosis cases.
Officials have been dealing with the issue for months in the homeless community.
The State Health Department is now taking over testing for TB. This change is so the local Health Departments are able to focus on other issues.
The Health Department is also offering preventive antibiotics to people with latent tuberculosis. There are 337 cases across the state.
They are also screening beyond the homeless population to people who may have come in contact with the homeless.
