GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- An 18-year-old Arabian gelding who was turned over by a family who could no longer afford to keep him has been adopted.

Beamer, the horse, originated at a loving home but his owners could no longer afford to keep him according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office
The owners turned Beamer over to Clay County Animal Control but the agency's animal shelter could no longer afford to house and feed the horse.
So Beamer went up for auction Thursday.
And Beamer was sold. To a family for $200.
