JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has a robbery suspect in custody after an officer fired a shot at the suspect.

No one was hit or hurt in the incident, which happened near West 17th and Grunthal streets, according to JSO Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley.

Police could not say whether the suspect was armed.

JSO had an arrest warrant for the man, as he was wanted as a suspect in a home invasion robbery.

The suspect was under JSO surveillance and was being followed as he drove a vehicle, JSO Chief Chris Butler said.

He bailed out of the vehicle at 17th and Grunthal and fled on foot, ignoring JSO's commands to stop, Butler said.

The suspect made his way on to a roof. A JSO officer fired a shot at him and missed. He was apprehended moments later at that same house, Butler said.

Two passengers were in the suspect's vehicle have been interviewed by JSO.
