PONTE VEDRA, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has arrested an 83-year-old man for DUI after they say he struck a bicyclist Thursday evening.

The crash happened in the early evening hours in the 300 block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard, according to a news release from St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Catherine Payne.

Payne said Jennifer Fulton, 37, was hit by a 1971 Mercedes driven by Hayne De Yampert McCondichie.

Fulton was taken to Baptist Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

McCondichie was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI with property damage, open container of alcohol, DUI with serious injury, driving on a suspended license habitual violator and driving on a suspended license resulting in injury.
