Police investigating laptops stolen from elementary school

PALATKA, Fla. -- The Palatka Police Department is investigating the theft of 20 laptops from James A. Long Elementary School.

School officials reported to the police department that 20 white Apple MacBook computers had been stolen from the school, according to a news release from the Palatka Police Department.

The laptops are worth an estimated $22,000.

Police do not currently have any suspects but believe whoever stole the laptops got inside the school by breaking a window.

If anyone has information that may be able to help police they are asked to call Sergeant Jason law of the Palatka Police Department at 386-329-015, extension 349 or Detective Alex Egan at 386-329-0115, extension 345.

A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect(s).  People with information that could help police may also call the Crime Tip Hotline at 386-329-0170.
