HASTINGS, Fla. -- An investigation is underway after the driver of a minivan hit a bear in Flagler Estates. It happened on County Road 204 on Monday night.

A crew on the scene told First Coast News the bear ran out in front of the minivan.
The driver of the van tried to stop in time but ended up hitting the animal.
The bear was badly injured and had to be put down by wildlife officials. No one in the van was hurt.
