BRADENTON, Fla. -- For weeks, residents in a Manatee County neighborhood have had to deal with the bodies of wild pigs that mysteriously appeared in a nearby creek. Two men have now reportedly confessed to dumping the hogs.
WWSB report the corpses of up to 20 pigs littered Wares Creek, near downtown Bradenton. As a result, flocks of turkey vultures descended on the neighborhood to feast on the carrion.
After local media began reporting on the pig carcasses, the Bradenton Herald says two men came forward, admitting they were the ones who dumped the bodies.

The newspaper reports the men were clearing land in the eastern part of the county when they came across wild boars. After killing them and removing most of their meat, they apparently tossed the remains into the creek, thinking it was a reasonable way to dispose of the bodies.
"They were basically sorry," City Councilman Pat Roff told the Herald. "I didn't think those who were doing it knew there was anything wrong with it."
There is no word on whether the men will face any charges.
