JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Habijax For Humanity of Jacksonville is known for building new houses for low-income residents who qualify for their home ownership program.
Now the organization is branching out to do home repairs for low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain their homes.
Habijax has partnered with several church groups who are providing volunteers to do the work.
They call the program "A Brush with Kindness".
Saturday volunteers worked at a home on Barnett Street.
Habijax and it's volunteers are hoping to make a positive impact on the New Town Success Zone, an area just west of downtown.
Habijax hopes to complete repairs on 24 homes by the middle of April.
