WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Federal Trade Commission has shut down a bogus prize promotion.
The FTC seized the assets of AHA telemarketing and Glen Burke, a repeat offender.
Consumers were told they had won a valuable prize, only to receive cheap costume jewelry or a lithograph print after paying $300 to $500 upfront.
The FTC said AHA telemarketing ran several companies to carry out the fraud.
