JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Laurreta said she got a letter that raised an eyebrow.
The letter said it's from the United States Census Bureau and is about the Consumer Expenditure Survey, which is voluntary.
The letter goes on to say a field rep will contact her soon for an interview and show an official ID. The letter also asks to have documents like pay stubs ready for the interview.
The Washington, DC office of the Census Bureau tells First Coast News they've done the expenditure surveys for years. The Atlanta office confirmed the identity of that field representative to FCN.
