Mars Petcare US is recalling three types of Pedigree brand canned food because it may contain small pieces of plastic that dogs could choke on.
They are: Pedigree+ Healthy Weight Premium Ground Entrée in Meaty Juices, Pedigree Weight Management Meaty Ground Dinner Beef & Liver Dinner in Meaty Juices, and Pedigree Weight Management Meaty Ground Dinner Chicken & Rice Dinner in Meaty Juices.
Cans of these products may contain small blue pieces of plastic, which broke off of a conveyer belt during the production process at a facility in Columbus, Ohio, according to information on Pedigree's website.
Consumers with the recalled product are encouraged to throw the food away or return it to the store for a full refund or exchange.
