COLORADO SPRINGS - A child was hit and killed by a truck at a car wash while his father was vacuuming the family car Saturday.
The Colorado Springs Police Department says 20-month-old Greco Gomez-Bustillos stepped out from the grass and rock area of a car wash and was hit by a passing truck.
Greco's family was at M&M Car Wash on Bula Drive when he was hit. Police say his father was cleaning the car when the accident happened and his mother and another child were nearby.
Greco was taken to Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the truck, whose name has not been released, was cited for not having a driver's license and no proof of insurance. No other charges are pending and alcohol was not a factor, according to police.
