ELLIOT LAKE, Ontario (AP) - Authorities say at least one person is feared dead after a roof collapsed at a mall in northern Ontario.
Elliot Lake Mayor Rick Hamilton said Sunday evidence of a casualty has been uncovered.
Ontario Provincial Police Insp. Percy Jollymore said Sunday images of the scene show a hand and a foot in the dusty debris. Police say the structure is still too unstable for crews to access. They say the operation is still considered a rescue.
Fire officials say they heard taps coming from behind slabs of concrete and metal Sunday morning.
Police still have a list of nine people missing since the collapse Saturday at the Algo Centre Mall in Elliot Lake. At least 22 people were hurt.
