John Edwards' legal troubles are over, but the sex scandal that ended his political career will be back in the spotlight soon.

His former mistress Rielle Hunter begins a publicity blitz next week for her tell-all book, What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me, with an appearance June 22 on ABC News' 20/20. In an interview with Chris Cuomo, she "speaks candidly about her current relationship" with Edwards, his relationship with their daughter Quinn and what she would have said had she been called as a witness in Edwards' recent corruption trial, the network says in a news release.

On June 26, the day her book is published, Hunter is slated to appear on ABC from daybreak to late night, with interviews on Good Morning America, The View and Nightline.

Edwards' legal woes officially ended Wednesday when the Justice Department announced it would not retry the former North Carolina senator.

Last month, a federal jury acquitted the former Democratic presidential candidate on a campaign-finance violation and deadlocked on five other counts, resulting in a mistrial on those charges. The six-week trial centered on whether roughly $1 million in payments from two wealthy donors to conceal the extramarital affair amounted to illegal campaign contributions. Edwards said they were gifts.

Edwards was the Democrats' 2004 vice presidential nominee.
