WASHINGTON (AP) - Rick Santorum's victory in the Minnesota Republican presidential caucuses has netted him at least 13 delegates to the party's national convention.
Minnesota had 37 delegates at stake - 13 based on statewide results and 24 based on results in individual congressional districts.
Tuesday's caucuses were the first step of a multi-step process to determine Minnesota's delegates. An Associated Press analysis showed Santorum would win all the statewide delegates if he maintains the same level of support throughout the process.
The district delegates cannot be determined because the state has not approved new congressional district boundaries following the 2010 Census.
Mitt Romney leads the overall race for delegates, with 101. Newt Gingrich has 32, Santorum has 30 and Ron Paul has nine. It takes 1,144 delegates to win the GOP nomination.
