Two killed in Panhandle helicopter crash

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office reported a helicopter crash at Wakulla County Airport that has resulted in two fatalities and one in critical condition.

At approximately 8 p.m. Saturday night a helicopter was trying to take off from the Wakulla County Airport when it collided with a tree limb and eventually landed on its roof, reports WCSO.

53-year-old Curtis Clifford, pilot of the helicopter, and 49-year-old passenger Terry Bryan Ooten were both pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

The third individual on the helicopter, 46-year-old Sheri Devore, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, but is reported to be in critical condition. WCSO has been working with Florida Highway Patrol and the fire department to investigate the crash.
