Michele Perry, one of the 12 Kids Who Care in 1993
Michele Perry in Sudan

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- She was born with just one leg. By age 13 she'd had 23 surgeries. Sometimes doctors didn't think she would even live.
Now, though, standing at 4 feet, 8 inches tall, Michele Perry is spreading her compassion around the world.
We first learned about Michelle back in 1993. Our panel of judges were so impressed with her accomplishments we named her one of our 12 Kids Who Care.
Michele's grade point average was comfortably above a 4.0 when she graduated Orange Park High.
Now she's 29 and living in the Sudan. She's handling her mission work with the energy of an Olympic athlete.
Her mother, Dianne Perry in Orange Park, says she just "prays harder" when she hears about Michele's experiences.
Her latest danger involved a gun to her head.
You can meet Michele and hear about her wild, but compassionate, stories. Just click on the video link.

If you can donate items here's how:
Michele's mother, Diane Perry, is going to Africa in March and can take much-needed supplies, such as children's clothes, Kool-Aid, new underwear and gently-used children's shoes. Michele would also appreciate crayons for the children to use.
You can call Michele's mother directly. Her phone is 904-272-3427.
