Two Teens Arrested for Palatka Home Invasion

PALATKA, Fla. -- Police have arrested two teens for a home invasion robbery in Palatka.

Police arrested a 16-year-old male Wednesday around 2 p.m., some 12 hours after the attack at a home on Red Bud Lane.

The victim, a woman, told police two men broke in and demanded money.

Police say the suspects assaulted her before stealing some items from her home and driving off in her car.

An officer on patrol recognized the driver of the car because he's a juvenile and doesn't have a driver's license.

The officer turned around to stop the car when it crashed into a pole.  The two people inside ran off.

Search dogs tracked the men through the Ravine Gardens State Park.

The teen faces charges of home invasion robbery, aggravated battery and grand theft.

Police arrested the second suspect at an apartment complex in Palatka shortly before 5 p.m.  The suspect is 17 years old.  He faces charges of home invasion robbery, aggravated battery and grand theft.

 

 

The woman underwent treatment at Putnam Community Medical Center.
