JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- Jacksonville Beach police officers responded to a call from someone who said they heard gunshots, then saw two men running this morning.

Once they arrived at Eighth Street South and Second Avenue around 4:50, officers got another call to a McDonald's. An employee called 911 and said a man with a gunshot wound walked up to the drive-thru.

The man with the gunshot wound told police he was coming from the beach with three other people. They were attempting to buy crack cocaine, he said, when the people with him refused to get out of the van, saying they were scared.

He told police he got out of the van alone and asked the other men if they were selling crack cocaine. One of the men pulled out a handgun and fired at him four times, he said.

He was hit once in the left buttock, and the bullet exited through his right testicle.

He immediately ran to McDonald's, where he walked through the drive-thru. He said the three people with him fled.

He was taken to Shands Hospital; he is in stable condition.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION

The first man is described as 5''8", 185 pounds, and wearing a red t-shirt and khaki pants. The second suspect was also approximately 5'8", 185 pounds, but wearing a white T-shirt and khaki pants. The third suspect is described as 6'2", skinny, with short dreds. All suspects appeared to be in their 20's.
