JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The American Red Cross has decided to keep six of its seven city shelters open another day, through Friday morning.
The Sabal Palm Elementary location is now closed.
About 100 people were asleep inside the shelter at Landmark Middle School early Thursday morning. The threat of Tropical Storm Fay is causing people to leave their homes and take shelter.
If you decide to check into a shelter, bring medications, bedding, snacks and other neccessities.
Based on the storm, the city will decide whether to keep the shelters open after Friday morning.
