JACKSONVILLE, FLA-- It is Wednesday so that means it is time for Teacher of the Week. This week we are spotlighting Anna Dailey at Paxon School for the Advanced Studies. She teaches chemistry and says seeing the light bulb go off in students, especially in a tough subject like chemistry, is part of what motivates her to keep pushing and exploring new ways to teach.
Mrs. Dailey says a big part of being successful in teaching is knowing your students and how to connect to them.
"You really have to know your audience and connect, because if you don't you will lose their interest. So as far as keeping up with the latest trends and technology or finding something going on in the world and bringing it back to chemistry and relating it to real life, I think that is really important to keep their interest," said Mrs. Dailey.
She says she likes to use models, real life analogies and hands on lab projects to help students understand the material. For her creativity and dedication, Mrs. Anna Dailey at Paxon School for the Advanced Studies is our Teacher of the Week.
