BELLEVIEW, FL -- Investigators in north Florida are trying to figure out how a radioactive material ended up at a pawn shop. A hazardous materials team was called to the Gold Mine pawn shop in Belleview this week.
They found a container with suspicious markings. The capsule was labeled as uranium or yellow cake.
Inside, detectives found one ounce of a processed form of uranium. The pawnshop owner said the box had been in storage for 20 years.
