JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a man's search for a missing bird led to a deadly gunfire on the Southside.

Police say Errol Ricketts, 19, went to the Lighthouse Bay Apartments on Atlantic Boulevard Thursday to look for his cousin's missing bird.

Police say Rickets tried to force his way into an apartment where Darryn McCoy lived.

The two got into a fight when Ricketts pulled a gun and shot McCoy.

Police found Ricketts in another apartment with two friends. Authorities took all three downtown for questioning.

Ricketts is now facing murder charges.

McCoy died from his injuries.
