PALM BAY, Fla. (WESH) - An argument between a Palm Bay couple gave way to a violent thumb-biting attack Wednesday, according to police officers
 
Investigators said Ricardo Davis bit off his girlfriend's thumb.
 
Davis and his girlfriend were arguing inside a car when things took a violent turn, officers said. The woman apparently pushed Davis, and he then bit her thumb  off.
 
The victim told investigators Davis then spit the thumb out of his mouth.
 
Doctors were not able to reattach the thumb.
 
Davis faces aggravated battery charges.
