Here in America, we like to make snide comments about how seriously the rest of the world takes soccer when violence breaks out.

Well on Sunday in Virginia, a couple of players had an incident that puts Eastern Europe to shame.

During a recreational match, an argument broke out between two players. One of them proceeded to grab a machete and the other decided to fetch a pipe.

Some brave souls broke up the scuffle with several receiving minor injuries, but no charges were filed.

Serious question: Who just regularly has a machete handy?
