ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Sometimes, you just get caught up in the moment and emotion elbows rational thinking out of the way.
How else can you explain the decision made by R-T Rybak's mother to
jump into a crowded ballroom and crowd surf immediately following the
declaration of Barack Obama as the winner of the 2012 Presidential race.
Rybak is known for his bursts of enthusiasm, especially when
Democrats prevail, so his move to crowd surf isn't unexpected, or out of
character. But his mother, who has long held an AARP card, actually
climbed up into the arms of a crazed crowd even before her son did.
The Minneapolis Mayor may take some guff Wednesday over his mother beating him to the punch.
