FORT MYERS, Fla.-- Lee County deputies are searching for whoever stole about 150,000 baby clams from a clam nursery.
    
The News-Press reports that the clams were worth $1,500. They were stolen sometime between the night of Oct. 29 and the morning of Oct. 30.
    
The baby clams are each about the size of a pea. They don't go to market for another nine to 12 months.
    
The clam nursery does not have an alarm or security cameras.
    
According to state officials, there are about 350 clam farmers in Florida, and the industry is growing.
