JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Mackenley Widner Fiacre, 23, of Jacksonville has been arrested in connection with a murder that took place April 12.
According to a report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers responded to an alarm at a home in the 2400 block of Miss Muffet Lane W, in Duval County, Florida at approximately 1:21 p.m. on April 12. At the residence, officers found broken windows in both a bedroom and bathroom.
Officers forced their way into the home, where they found a victim in the hallway suffering from a single fatal gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to the report.
An investigation revealed that the victim lived in the home alone. The police report did not identify the victim.
A single drop of blood was recovered by Crime Scene Detectives, on glass from the broken bedroom window. DNA analysis determined the blood was a match to suspect Mackenley Widner Fiacre.
On May 30, a burglary warrant was issued for Fiacre. A search warrant was executed at the residence of Fiacre in the 7000 block of Wilson Boulevard on May 31. Fiacre was at the location and was taken into custody, the report stated.
According to the report, Fiacre claimed that he did not know the victim and had never been to the victim's residence. When told that his DNA was recovered at the scene, Fiacre again denied having been to the residence and stated the DNA could not belong to him.
Fiacre has been charged with the outstanding burglary warrant and an add-on charge for murder. He is being held on a $250,003 bond that was issued with the burglary warrant.
