JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Beach Police Department released new information Thursday about a double shooting that happened October 15.
Sergeant Tom Bingham with the Jacksonville Beach Police Department said the two people were shot after three people became involved in an argument around 11 p.m. Monday. Bingham said the argument was two people against one.
Bingham said two of the people involved in the argument began shooting at each other. One of the shooters, 17-year-old Daniel Jarrett, was injured in the altercation. The second person shot, is a female victim who was not involved in the argument. She was a bystander caught in the crossfire, Bingham said.
Police found Jarrett at Beaches Baptist Hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound.
Bingham said police arrested Jarrett, who lives in Jacksonville Beach, on charges of attempted murder.
