JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The city council has called a special session to hear the contract dispute between the Fraternal Order of Police and the city of Jacksonville.
Councilman John Crescembeni confirms the Jacksonville City Council will hold a session at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 12.
The two have been at odds for months and have been unable to reach an agreement.

The dispute went to a special magistrate, but Mayor Alvin Brown rejected the decision.
The council's decision will be binding for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. The meeting will be open to the public.
