JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The road closed since before noon because of a ruptured water main reopened by 5 p.m.
Gerri Boyce, spokesperson for JEA, said a crew installing a pole this morning hit and broke an 8-inch water main, sending water high into the air.

The crew was in the process of setting the pole near the intersection of Dancy and Park Streets, Boyce said. Dancy was closed between Eloise and Walsh streets for several hours.
The valve supplying the water to the gusher was turned off by 2 p.m. and water rerouted to other mains.
