JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville families facing foreclosure can get help to stay in their home.
The Collins Center for Public Policy is offering a mediation program to bring lenders and homeowners together.
Any Fannie Mae homeowner who is delinquent on mortgage payments and has yet to file foreclosure can participate in a pre-file mediation.
Leaders with the foreclosure mediation program say it connects homeowners to financial counselors before they meet with banks or lenders.
The service is free.
