Miranda Wilkerson at the Home of Donald Coleman

Miranda Wilkerson, 3, was turned over to a registered sex offender earlier this month.
A petition is now online demanding that Miranda be given back to her grandmother.

The child has been the center of a custody battle since her mother died when she was a month old.
Trista Crews, Miranda's mom, was killed in a car accident in August 2007. At the time she was separated from her husband, that sex offender, Donald Coleman.
Because the two were married at the time of Miranda's birth, he is considered her legal father. Coleman is not Miranda's biological father.
Coleman was charged with a sex crime involving a child in 1997 and has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The crime involved Miranda's mom who was 14 when she was with Coleman, who was 38 at the time.
