TAMPA, Fla. -- The husband of a Tampa woman accused of killing their two teenage children plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against her.
Army Col. Parker Schenecker told the St. Petersburg Times he will file the lawsuit Monday against 50-year-old Julie Schenecker, his wife of 20 years. She is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of 16-year-old Calyx and 13-year-old Beau in January.
Her husband quietly filed for divorce, but says he was "incredulous" over his wife's demands, which included $40,000 for a lawyer and $10,000 for a forensic accountant. He says she also wanted him to buy a life insurance police and name her as a beneficiary.
Schenecker says he wants to use the couple's money to do good things in memory of their children.
