St. Johns Fire Rescue safely transports 700 pound tiger to the Vet

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Fire Rescue Special Operations was part of a truly “Special Operation” early Tuesday morning.

The Department Special Operations team is trained in large animal rescue and was contacted by the St. Augustine Wild Reserve to assist them in moving and transporting their 700lb Tiger “Toruk” for medical treatment at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville, FL.

According to their Facebook post, the equipment they carry for these operations was donated to the Department from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and proved to be very valuable during this operation.
