St. Johns County authorities looking for suspect in Family Dollar robbery

ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that occurred at a convenience store on Monday evening.

According to authorities, a possible Hispanic male entered the Family Dollar located at 500 S.R. 16 around 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5 wearing a black long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a hat and some type of mask covering his face.

The suspect allegedly walked up to the counter and showed the clerk a note that demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the employee and fled the scene heading eastbound on foot.

The clerk advised St. Johns County officers that the suspect had tattoos on the tops of his hands. It is unknown at this time if the suspect was armed.
